The Albert Lea Youth Wrestling team finished second at the Northland Youth Wrestling Association (NYWA) Regional Qualifier March 20, 2010. 

The tournament was held in Tracy with 12 teams competing to qualify for the state tournamen in Rochester April 10-11. 

Albert Lea started the day off with a 58-25 win against Wabasso-Red Rock Central.  

Albert Lea’s 39-36 win against Minneota put the team in the finals with Adrian where it lost 58-22. 

The Albert Lea youth wrestling team will compete at the NYWA state tournament April 10-11 in Rochester.

Seven members of the Albert Lea youth wrestling team competed individually at the Minnesota USA State Folkstyle Wrestling Tournament in Rochester the March 12.

Wrestlers included Nic Cantu, Cole Glazier, Zach Glazier, Kanin Hable, Ty Harms, Jesse Hernandez, and Brody Nielsen.

Zach Glazier won his weight class while Cole Glazier place second and Nic Cantu third.

More youth wrestling action continues as 46 K-eighth graders compete March 26 at the Northland Youth Wrestling Association Regional individual tournament in Windom.
