Ardis Ryals, 75

Funeral services for Ardis L. Ryals, 75, of Alden, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Cherie Daniel will officiate. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
Ardis died Monday, March 29, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Ardis L. Ryals was born on Dec. 29, 1934, to Orla and LaJune (Ulrich) Sorensen in Waseca. Ardis graduated from high school in Kansas City, Mo., In 1965, Ardis married Clayton Ryals of Mena, Ark., and spent many years as a stay-home mom. After returning to Minnesota, Ardis was employed at Streater, retiring in 1995. Ardis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Alden, the Alden Lions Club, Alden Historical Society and the Alden Senior Citizens Lunch Group. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and was an excellent seamstress. Ardis loved spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them in their lives.
Survivors include her children: Jeffrey Goodner of Oklahoma, Beth and husband Craig Drescher of rural Conger, and Russell and wife Jan Ryals of Oklahoma; grandchildren: Derek, Tyler, Kailie and Alexa Drescher, John Ryals, Crew Green, and Ashley Ryals; siblings: Merle Sorensen, Russell Sorensen, Richard and wife Phyllis Sorensen, Karen and husband Tom Hinkley, Jane and husband Rod Michaelson and Orlene and husband Gary Rechtzigel; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Marion Hendricks.
Ardis was preceded in death by her parents; and nephews, Darby, Wayne and Stan.
Ardis will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
