A report about a collision Saturday morning at the interchange of Bridge Avenue and Interstate 90 has been made available from the Minnesota State Patrol.
It says a Pontiac Bonneville driven by 17-year-old Braden D. Larson of Bricelyn was northbound on Bridge Avenue when he turned left to take the on-ramp for westbound I-90. Doing so, he turned directly in the path of a southbound Chrysler 300 driven by 83-year-old Alphonsus P. O’Brien of Albert Lea.
The Chrysler collided with the passenger’s side of the Pontiac.
Larson, who was taken to Albert Lea Medical Center via ambulance, was cited for failure to yield right of way. The time of the collision was at 10:28 a.m.
Neither O’Brien nor his wife, Ruth E. O’Brien, who was a passenger, were transported to the hospital.
The report makes no mention of fog as a factor. Both cars were silver, and Albert Lea was enveloped in fog on Saturday morning.
