Herbert Anderson

Memorial Services for Herbert C. Anderson of Albert Lea, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. Chaplain Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate.
Herbert died on Friday, March 5, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Home. He was 78.
He was born on May 30, 1931, in Albert Lea the son of Andrew and Alice (Larson) Anderson.
Herbert graduated from Albert Lea High School and then from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska with a degree in mathematics and biology.
An Albert Lea resident all of his life, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Herbert worked in banking at Norwest Bank for over 25 years. After his retirement, he continued serving people by helping as conservator of several estates.
He was active member of the community giving of his time and talents to the United Way, YMCA, Freeborn County Historical Society, St. John’s Foundation, Civic Music and many other boards throughout his life. He enjoyed reading music, being outdoors, cats and serving his community.
He will be missed by family which included nieces: Martha Neve, Lucy (Neve) Larson and her husband Cliff, Andy Neve; great nephew, Cliff Larson III, great niece, Rebecca Larson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Anderson; mother, Alice Anderson; and sister, Helen Rebecca (Becky) Neve.
