A pickup caught on fire around 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christianson Plumbing & Heating.
The dash of a Chevy service truck started smoking after it was parked behind the building. No one was injured.
The fire was put out by the driver, John Anderson, before the fire department arrived.
“He pulled in and when he saw smoke coming out of the dash he applied the fire extinguisher and buckets of water,” Albert Lea Fire Department Capt. Scott Hanna said.
They don’t know the cause of the fire yet, but it is under investigation.
“I’m glad I wasn’t driving it,” Anderson said.
The Albert Lea Fire Department and Albert Lea Police Department responded. Christianson Plumbing & Heating is at 312 W. Front St.
