Ruth Dagner, 72, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Ruth I. Dagner will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh and the Rev. Andrea Meyer will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. the day of the service. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea.
Ruth died Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 72 years old.
Ruth was born in Albert Lea on July 7, 1937, the daughter of Juren and Ida (Nesse) DeVries. Ruth was a lifetime resident of Albert Lea. She graduated from the Faribault School For The Deaf. She was married to William Dagner, who preceded her in death. Ruth was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and had been a member of Salem Lutheran in the past.
Ruth had been a member of the Deaf Club and enjoyed sewing, embroidering, cooking and gardening. She enjoyed attending all her family activities.
Ruth is survived by her sister, Phyllis DeVries of Albert Lea; step children: Mary Novak of Minneapolis and her family and Fredrick Dagner of Utah and his family; nieces and nephews: Debra Georgia, Barbara Thompson, Donald Thompson and Vickie Zobel. all of Lake Mills, Iowa, D. Dwayne DeVries and Annette Leslie, both of DesMoines, Iowa; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; sisters, Dorothy Thompson and Idella DeVries; and brother, Darold DeVries.
