Senior Resources to suffer funding cut

I could not live on my own if it were not for my good friends and Senior Resources Ride Services!

Hello, my name is Bette Henrichs, and I am writing to let you know of some news I have found out and the concerns I have. I have learned that Senior Resources has been cut in their funding. That cut affects many seniors who live in this county that depend on Senior Resources.

I would not be able to continue to live in my own home if it were not for good friends and the Senior Resources Ride Services program. You see my closest family lives about 2,200 miles away. I have been using Rides Services for about three years now.

Using Ride Services allows me to live independently in my own home and enables me to be an active part of my community.

When using Ride Services my experiences have always been positive and pleasant. The drivers are willing to go out of their way to help with carrying packages to opening doors for me. They are always friendly and on time as well. These drivers mind you are all volunteers who give of their time. I know what this program has provided for me and others in this community. So I would encourage you to support the seniors in this community.

I would like to invite you to their open house on Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Skyline Plaza in the center court.

I just cannot say enough good things about Senior Resources and the difference they make in seniors lives in Freeborn County.
