Two-county chase ends in arrest

David Laverne Klocek, 30, of Steele County, was arrested and cited with first and second degree DWI and felony fleeing, according to a report filed by the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.
This report said a Freeborn County deputy attempted to stop Klocek’s vehicle for a traffic violation on County Road 45 north of Geneva at 12:28 a.m. Friday. Klocek allegedly reached speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour and went north into Steele County. The chase continued on west through Ellendale on State Highway 30, then onto Steele County Roads 28 and 21 to Klocek’s home near the Waseca County line where he was arrested.
Waseca and Steele County Sheriff’s deputies and New Richland Police Department assisted in the chase and arrest.
