The funeral service for Arnold Edward Sletten will be 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 401 W. Main St. in Brownsdale, with the Rev. Jeffery Sage officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Brownsdale.
Arnold Edward Sletten, 78, of Austin, and formerly of Brownsdale, died April 4, 2010, at his home in Austin. 
Arnold was born on Nov. 26, 1931, the son of Albert and Alma (Nelson) in Kiester. He worked as a hired hand on a farm in Alden. He joined the Army and served in the Korean War. After the service he returned home and again worked as a hired hand. Arnold married Elaine Olsen in 1955. He worked as a butter maker for 15 years, then for Freeborn Co-op as a truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, playing horseshoes, and watching ball games.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Elaine Sletten, Austin; children: Joyce (Dennis) McFadden, Flower Mound, Texas, Tim (Nancy) Sletten, Owatonna, Wayne (Keri) Sletten, Waseca, Sandra (Mike) Brooks, Owatonna, Carolyn (Jim) Riles, St. Michael, Marsha (Ky) Colburn, Fredericksburg, Va., Kelly (Jason) Lund, Madison, Susan (Andrew) McCoy, Rose Creek, Patricia Olson, Austin; sister, Helen Ravielle, Chatfield; brother, Ken (Iva) Sletten, Clarks Grove; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Violet; brothers: Donald, Earl, Henry and Richard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 302 Market St. in Brownsdale, and one hour before the service at the church. Blessed be his memory.
