The funeral service for Harold “Kenny” Dulitz of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by Albert Lea veterans organizations. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, 2210 E. Main St., Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Kenny died peacefully at his home on Monday, April 12, 2010. He was 68. He was born on April 17, 1941, in Albert Lea, the son of Roland and Priscilla (Tapp) Dulitz.
He graduated from Albert Lea High School and then went into the U.S. Army where he served our country in Berlin for two years.
Kenny was united in marriage to Donna Hansen on Sept. 25, 1965, in Freeborn and lived in Albert Lea all of his life. He had worked for the city of Albert Lea; and the state of Minnesota for 31 years in highway maintenance.
He enjoyed camping with his family and friends in his earlier years. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Donna and friends; and spent countless hours playing cards with family and many good friends.
He is survived by his wife Donna; two sons: Robert “Bob” Dulitz and his wife Teresa (Newman) of Owatonna and Kevin Dulitz and his wife Leean (Buck) of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Brandon, Tyler, Austin, Alex and Allison; brothers: Richard Dulitz and his wife Alice of Owatonna and Steve Dulitz and his wife Sharon of Albert Lea; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roland and Priscilla Dulitz; brother, Everett Dulitz; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Earl and Marie Hansen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
