Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton scored five of its six runs in the first three innings as it went on to beat the United South Central softball team 6-3 Thursday in Janeville.

Carly Peterson went 3-for-4 for the Rebels (5-2, 3-2 Gopher) and Ali Ramsley struck out eight in the loss.

USC plays Blue Earth Friday in Wells.
