Norma Goodmanson, 88

Norma Junella Marie Goodmanson of Thorne Crest Retirement Community, Albert Lea, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at the age of 88.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Friends may visit with family one hour before the service at the Church. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Norma was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Coulter, Iowa the daughter of Chris and Marie (Waldemar) Andersen. At a young age she came to Albert Lea and has been a lifelong resident. She was united in marriage to Errol Goodmanson on July 8, 1945. Norma has been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since the age of 9. She was active in the church, serving as a choir member, Sunday school teacher and belonging to the Alter Guild and Church Circles. Norma worked many years for the Albert Lea Medical Center as a bookkeeper. From 1937 – 1939 she belonged to the Swing Sisters and sang for various activities. Norma enjoyed playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles, Tole painting, calligraphy and traveling. Norma especially enjoyed spending time with her family and taking family vacations.
Norma is survived by her three children: son, Scott Goodmanson and his wife Ann of Albert Lea; daughter, Jane Groos and her husband John of Sioux Falls. S.D.; and Jerry Goodmanson and his wife Jean of Cold Spring; grandchildren: Matthew (Sarah) Goodmanson of Bothell, Wash., Erik (Deborah) Goodmanson of Napa, Calif., Brent (Heather) Groos of Sioux Falls, S.D., Brian (Suzi) Gross of Denver, Colo., Brooke (Joshua) Parks of Cold Spring and Brianne (Mark) Wagner of Maui, Hawaii; great-grandchildren: Lily and Ryder Goodmanson, Gavin and Griffin Groos, Kyrsten Perry, Talyn and Bradyn Groos, Audrey, Benjamin and Nathaniel Parks; many nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents: Chris and Marie Andersen; husband, Errol Goodmanson on May 14, 2008; and brothers and sisters.
