Northwood-Kensett boys’ track powers to first

The Northwood-Kensett boys’ track team scored five first-places finished as the Vikings captured first place with a score of 149 points Monday in Northwood, Iowa.

St. Ansgar was a close second with 147 points, while Central Springs rounded out the top three with 112.5 points.

Northwood-Kensett senior Sam Arnold recorded two first-place finishes. Arnold won the 400-meter dash in a time of 53.31 seconds and he also captured first in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:00.49 seconds.

Spencer Capitani scored a first place finish in the 200 with a time of 24.17 seconds.

The Vikings also won the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:04.83 and the 1,600 medley relay with a time of 3:58.08 seconds.
