USC/A-C boys take second at home track meet

The Blue Earth boys’ track and field team and Waseca won the girls’ portion Tuesday at the United South Central/Alden-Conger Invite in Wells.
The Rebels finished second with 102 points, just behind the Buccaneers, who scored 112 points. New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva placed sixth.
Cody Koenen won the high jump and USC/A-C had six second-place finishes.
Kevin Klocek won the 100-meter dash and 200 for the Panthers and David Lindell won the discus.
The NRHEG girls placed third with 74 points, behind Blue Earth, which scored 119.5 and Waseca, which scored 146. USC/A-C finished sixth.
Alyssa Kerkhoff took second in the 100, 200 and 400.
Carlie Wagner tied the school record in the high jump by clearing five feet.
