Alert M. “Casey” Knudson, 83, of Faribault, died on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Faribault.
Funeral services will be held at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Hartland, on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Hartland Cemetery with military rites provided by area veterans’ organizations. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the services. Arrangements are being completed by the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.
Alert Milford, the son of Carl and Clara (Thofson) Knudson, was born April 11, 1927, in Hartland Township, Freeborn County. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed in various occupations. Alert was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed flying airplanes and riding his Harley.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Betty Knudson; three children: Jackie Larson, Tony Knudson and Nikki (Randy) Wirz; five grandchildren: Angie Weckwerth, Jake Larson, Mary (Josh) Hellerud, Rosa (Kyle) Ackerman and Zoey Wirz; two great-grand babies: Parker Ackerman and Isabelle Hellerud; seven siblings: Kernel (Beth) Knudson, Curt Knudson, Ernie (Arlene) Knudson, Ellie Becker, Janet (Corey) McDermott, Linda Patschke and Norlie Knudson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
