Bulldogs place three events

The Lake Mills girls’ track and field team turned in three place-winning events Saturday in the finals of the Iowa state track and field meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.
Haley Krull took third in both the 100 and 200-meter dash. Krull ran the 200 in a time of 25.98 seconds and finished six one hundredths of a second behind Belmond-Klemme’s Dana Christensen for second place. Logan-Magnolia’s Alex Gochenour set a state record with her time of 24.48, breaking a six-year-old record by nearly a half second.
Krull finished third by seven one hundredths of a second in the 100. Gochenour won the 100 as well with a time of 12.34 while Aspen Rhodes took third with a time of 12.81 and Krull was just behind with a time of 12.88 seconds.
The Lake Mills 4×400 relay team of Haley Mathews, Haley Krull, Hallie Erdahl and Darcy Nelson finished fourth with a time of 4:08.75 and finished just .13 seconds behind Highland for third place.
The Bulldogs finished 13th overall with 17 points.
