United South Central junior Sam Gackstetter shot 80 to earn medalist to help lead the United South Central boys’ golf team to third place with a 359 on Friday at the Gopher Conference meet in Blooming Prairie.

Blooming Prairie won the conference with a 342, while NRHEG finished one stroke back.

Gackstetter also earned all-conference honors with his 80.

“He’s been playing solid golf all year,” said USC boys’ golf coach Randy Halvorson. “He’s been playing very consistent golf and he’s a very confident golfer.”

Nate Pederson just missed out on honorable mention with a 91, while Erik Willaby shot one stroke back. Hayden Feist finished with a 96 for the Rebels.
