Glenn Jacobson, 94

Funeral services for Glenn Meredith Jacobson, 94, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 10, at Warners Funeral Home, Spencer, Iowa. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery of Spencer.
Glenn, formerly of Spencer, passed away on May 1, 2010, at Thorne Crest Retirement Community Health Care Wing in Albert Lea.
Glenn, the son of John and Isabel Jacobson was born May 20, 1915, in Havolock, Iowa. Glenn was educated in the Havolock School District. Glenn and his father operated the Standard Service Station in Peterson from 1935 to 1947.
On April 7, 1936, he married Jean Gilleas in Cherokee, Iowa. They had one daughter, Penee.
In 1947 the family moved to Spencer where Glenn was employed at K & D Bootery, J.C. Penney and Eddie Quinn Clothier. Glenn retired in 1980 and spent the majority of his remaining years in Spencer at the Sunset Apartments.
In 2007, Glenn moved to Albert Lea to be close to his daughter and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; parents; and brother, Donald.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Penee (John) McGaughey, of Albert Lea; grandchildren Robin (John) Arnold of Zumbro Falls and Patrick (Julie) McGaughey of Chanhassen; three great-grandchildren: Brynn Claire and Isaac Olson of Zumbro Falls and Sean McGaughey of Chanhassen.
