House Ag committee meeting today

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The U.S. House Committee on Agriculture is holding a field hearing in Sioux Falls Tuesday on the next federal farm bill.

Twelve committee members, including chairman Collin Peterson from Minnesota, Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin from South Dakota and Rep. Bob Goodlatte from Virginia, are listening to testimony from two panels at Augustana College.

The current $284 billion bill, approved in 2008, expires in September 2012.
