Ida Iszler, 102

Mrs. Ida Iszler died at the age of 102 in Albert Lea on April 27, 2010. Funeral services were held May 3 in Milbank, S.D.
Ida Magdalena Wentz was born Aug. 3, 1907, in McClosky, N.D., to Philip and Rose (Delzer) Wentz. She grew up in McClosky and Pickardville, N.D.
On Aug. 30, 1932, she was united in marriage to John Iszler of Streeter, N.D. Together they served South Dakota churches in Kellerton and Hayti, Twin Brooks and Grant Center, Milbank, Sioux Falls, Bowdle and Hosmer. The Rev. Iszler died in 1974.
Mrs. Iszler later moved to an apartment in Milbank and in 2000 moved to Clarks Grove to be nearer her daughter. She lived at Knutson Place, Hidden Creek and Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Her life was centered around family and church. She was a cancer survivor.
Survivors include one son, John Everett (Lois) Isle; one daughter, Maryalice (James) Hanson, Clarks Grove; two grandchildren: Shannon (Darrell) Utte, Pierre, S.D., and John Theodore (Tessa) Iszler, Rapid City, S.D.; four great-grandchildren: Shaelyn and Ashlynne Utter, Marissa and Canyon Iszler; a sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, infant son, father, mother, sisters, brothers and daughter-in-law.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful caregivers at Albert Lea Good Samaritan Nursing Home who contributed to Ida’s well-being and comfort.
Ida’s earthly remains were laid to rest at Milbank Cemetery.
An informal celebration of her life will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Ellendale United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
