Ida Satre

The funeral service for Ida Borghild Satre of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland. The Rev. Dennis Frank will officiate. Interment will be in Hartland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ida died on Thursday, May 27, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea. She was 91.
She was born on April 21, 1919, on a farm in Manchester Township, the daughter of Charlie and Gertrude (Bothun) Seberson.
She married Joseph W. Spooner on Sept. 30, 1937, at the Hartland Lutheran Church. Joseph died on March 25, 1972. She married Juren De Vries who died on Jan. 23, 1981, and later Ingolf (Ole) Satre who died on Dec. 15, 2004. Ida had been a waitress at both Club 16, and Ma’s Café, and worked at F.M. Stamper Co. in Wells and Queen Products in Albert Lea.
At the age of 50, Ida went back to school and attended classes at Albert Lea High School and Albert Lea Technical College. She earned her GED and certificates in bookkeeping, secretarial and general office training before working at Queens. She was also proud of the skills she learned at Powder Puff Mechanics Class at ALTEC. She was a member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church at Hartland and the Church Women (WELCA). She enjoyed dancing, going to the Eagles in Albert Lea, and playing bingo at the senior citizens center. Most of all she enjoyed visiting with everyone she met.
She is survived by her sons: Duane R. (Kathryn) Spooner of Hartland, and David J. Spooner of St. Paul; grandchildren: Brenda Johnson, Bradley Spooner, Tamara Wynkoop, Robert Spooner, LeAnn Brown, Rodney Spooner and Jason Spooner; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Gertrude Seberson, daughter Barbara Ann, husbands Joseph Spooner, Juran DeVries and Ingolf (Ole) Satre; brothers: Clarence (Louise) Seberson, Wallace, Roy, infant Walter, Chester and Walter Seberson; sisters: Burnette (Carl) Behrends, Lusella (Harry) Nelson, Arthillie Swenson, Gladys Fogal Cameran and Wilma (Arnold) Bangert.
