The Hortons founded David Horton Ministries in 1984 after being on staff at Kenneth Hagin Ministries in Broken Arrow, Okla., for several years. While on staff at KHM, Horton was a part of Kenneth Hagin’s crusade singing group, “Faith’s Creation,” and later served as a staff member of Healing School on the Rhema Campus. Cherie was the pianist in one of the editions of “Rhema Singers and Band,” and also served as the piano instructor at Rhema Bible Training Center.

David Horton is the author of two books, “Empowerment: Why Every Believer Can Do the Works of Christ,” (Tate Publishing, Mustang, Okla.), and “God’s No. 1 Job” (IFH Publications, Tulsa, Okla.). His television half-hour special, “Empowerment,” aired originally prime time for and by Trinity Broadcasting Network (Tustin, Calif.) has been distributed and aired by several other networks as a feature program. He has appeared several times as a guest on TBN’s “Praise the Lord” broadcast, as well as other Christian television programs. David has produced many products for encouraging Christians in their lives including CDs, DVDs and periodicals. Cherie Horton has released an instrumental album, “Jesus Paid It All.”

During the 1980s and 1990s, the Hortons conducted tent meetings with many Christian notables including former NFL Hall of Famer Rosie Grier, Donna Douglas and others. Many of these tent crusades were held in inner-city areas such as Watts in Los Angeles and inner-city Phoenix. The Watts crusades were broadcast live nationally by Trinity Broadcasting Network.

Today, the Hortons continue to reach out to the world through their missions to Brazil and Haiti, with Haiti having a complete Harvest Plan to bring thousands into God’s kingdom, as well as ministering to their physical needs at such a challenging time.

The Hortons have three children and reside in Tulsa.
