Ione Novitski 75

Ione May Novitski, 75, of 1503 Third Ave. S., Northwood, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at her home. It was Ione’s wish for her body to be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave S., Northwood, with the Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating. Condolences may be sent in in care of Pat Jaspers, 102 Eighth St. S., Northwood, Iowa 50459.
Ione Hecker was born May 28, 1934, in Barnum, the daughter of Clarence and Trilby (Sprouse) Hecker. She attended school in Barnum and Carlton.
In 1953, she was united in marriage to Martin Brandt and to this union four children were born. In 1964, she was united in marriage to William Novitski to this union two children were born and extending her family by becoming a step-mother of four children. Ione worked several part time jobs finding more joy in being a homemaker and taking care of her family.
Ione enjoyed bingo, writing pen pals, cooking, canning, gardening, crossword puzzles and playing card games!  Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Ione is survived by her husband, Bill Novitski, Northwood; children: Daryl (Virginia) Brandt, Signal Hill, Calif., Cat (Dave) Vogel, Northwood, Barb Jensen, Albert Lea, Pat (Doug) Jaspers, Northwood, Jeff Novitski, Maryville, Tenn.; son-in-law, Jerry Reupke, Stewartville; step-children: Susan (Joseph) Tomaszski, Superior, Wis., Toni (Daryl) Novitski, Moose Lake, Bill Novitski, Willow River, Marilyn (Keith) Johnson, St. Peter; siblings: Mary Jean (Jim) Flasch, Zimmerman, Gloria Stoneburner, Barnum, Vernon Hecker of Spokane, Wash., Lennon (Melva) Hecker, Moose Lake, Algernon (Rose) Hecker, Anchorage, Alaska; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ione is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lynne Reupke; granddaughter, Christina Reupke; grandson, Jason Jensen; and brother, Clemens Hecker.
