Lindsay Summer carded a 53 to earn medalist honors and help lead Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton over the Alden-Conger girls’ golf team 234-248 Friday at Oak View Golf Course in Freeborn.

“I think were progressing nicely, getting girls in 50s, that’s nice,” said Alden-Conger girls’ golf coach Matt Hallman.

Lily Gjersvik led the Knights with a 57, while Chrissy Reindal finished just one stroke behind.

Kelsey Behnke finished with a 65 and Brenna VanEngelburg shot a 68.

Hallman noted that all four are freshman and that the future looks bright for the program.

“If they can keep it together and progress, that’s something for the future.” Hallman said.

Alden-Conger travels to Hayfield on Monday for the subsection meet.

Mulso medals, A-C boys fall

Alden-Conger senior Jordan Mulso shot a 41 to earn medalist honors, but J-W-P took the match with a 183-194 victory over the Alden-Conger boys’ golf team on Friday at Oak View Golf Course.

“It was little bit tougher conditions on the course today,” said Hallman, noting some minor spring maintenance work is being done at the course.

Along with Mulso’s 41, senior Brandon McTague shot a 46.

“Jordan played OK in difficult conditions,” Hallman said. “Brandon had a tough night with the conditions.”

Putting seemed to be the worst problem.

“Putting was difficult for everyone tonight with course conditions.” Hallman said.

Eli Hallman carded a 52 for the Knights, while freshmen Tommy Geesman finished with a 55.

Alden-Conger is back in action on Monday with the subsection tournament at Hayfield.
