Linda Nelson, 57

Linda Lee Nelson, daughter of George and Jean (McCarter) Hanson, was born Feb. 24, 1953, in Albert Lea. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth.
Linda moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa, in 1991. She worked as a bartender at the “Zoo.” Linda enjoyed reading, cooking, playing bingo and listening to country music.
Linda passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010, at her home in Eagle Grove at the age of 57 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry Allen Hanson, Jr.; brother-in-law, Jimmy Lovejoy; sister-in-law, Sharolyn Geiseke and husbands: Dale Krowiorz, Larry Hanson and Gene Nelson.
Survivors include her significant other, Joe Mrla of Eagle Grove; children: Tammy Johnson (Jeff) of Glenville, Laura Hanson (Fred) of Albert Lea, Larry Hanson (Jamie) of Wisconsin, Rich Daub of Wabasso, John Bolinger (Connie) of Albert Lea and Joseph Mrla, Jr. of Eagle Grove; Brad Mrla (Ashley) of Eagle Grove and Josh Mrla of Eagle Grove; 16 grandchildren; sisters: Jean Chavez (Nash) of Austin, Margaret Smith (Jim) of Albert Lea, Georgeanna Lovejoy of Indiana and Gail Hanson (Doug) of Albert Lea; brother, Richard Hanson (Cindy) of Blaine; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial services will be held Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the VFW in Eagle Grove, Iowa, 119 S. Broadway.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
