Bullish about their fall prospects, Minnesota Republicans are showing off their election ticket with a mass candidate filing.

Dozens of GOP office seekers led by gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer filed paperwork Tuesday. Nearly 100 legislative candidates turned out as well as all statewide candidates.Emmer, a state representative from Delano, is the party’s endorsed candidate in the race to replace departing Gov. Tim Pawlenty. Several Republicans compared the coming election to 1994, when the GOP made huge in-roads up and down the state government chain.

Aside from Pawlenty, Republicans lack key positions of power in state government.
