I am writing in response to an article written by the Albert Lea Tribune about smoking with kids in the car. This article talked about a bill at the capital that would outlaw smoking in cars with kids under 18. Although this was an interesting topic, I couldn’t figure out what your viewpoint on this matter was.

The article begins by saying the government is taking away our rights with this bill and then states that children riding in the car ask to roll down the windows because of the smoke and get hit by a blast of icy air. It gave ideas on how to promote not smoking in the car without making it a law and ended with the words “cough cough.” The opinion in the writing switched back and forth so much that by the time I finished reading I was thoroughly confused.

I think it would be beneficial to your readers if, in the future, your opinion is clearly stated somewhere in the article. I would greatly appreciate this and I think others would, too.

Think again about this sentence, for instance, “Just think of all the children riding in the back seat who will no longer have fond memories of asking their parents to roll down the windows, only to get frozen with a blast of winter air.”
