Kathryn Jordahl, 57

Funeral services for Kathryn R. Jordahl, 57, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Interment will be at the Bohemian National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Kathryn died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at her home with her loving daughter at her side.
Kathryn Rosemary Jordahl was born on April 27, 1953, to Milo and Henrietta (Faltus) Brabec in Albert Lea. She grew up in rural Glenville attending Myrtle Elementary School also in her youth she was a very active 4-H member. Kathryn graduated from Glenville High School in 1971 and continued her education at the radiology school in Fairmont. Kathryn was united in marriage to Paul Jordahl on June 23, 1973. She worked at the West Clinic in Albert Lea and the Freeborn County Shopper. But, it was her work at Arends & Associates as an employee benefit consultant that Kathryn enjoyed the most. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed being involved and supportive of her daughter Erica’s activities. Kathryn was instrumental in forming high school girls hockey in Albert Lea. Kathryn volunteered for the Pelican Breeze as a first mate and for the Freeborn County Historical Society. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Steven’s Ministries and also the Hayward Get-Together Extension Club. Kathryn loved to travel and she and Erica were very fortunate to have traveled to many foreign countries. Kathryn just loved living life to the fullest.
Survivors include her daughter, Erica Jordahl; brothers: Larry (Peg) Brabec of Drayden, Md., and Russell (Rose Marie) Brabec of Tallahassee, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; forever friend, Karen McGill; goddaughter, Mariah McGill; and her pet cat, Mimsey.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents: Milo and Henrietta (Bubbie) Brabec.
