Memorial services for Marilyn Kay Salthe, 56, of Clarks Grove, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Wayne Halvorsen will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Marilyn died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Marilyn Kay Salthe was born on March 21, 1954, to Clifford and Marlene (Sorenson) Krowiorz. She grew up in the Manchester and Freeborn area, graduating from Freeborn High School in 1972. On July 3, 1971, she married Glen Salthe in Princeton, Mo. Marilyn was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Garden Club of America. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, flowers, reading, playing cards, fishing, sewing and especially gardening and canning. Marilyn loved to spend time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Salthe; son, Keith (Cheri) Salthe; daughter, Angie Salthe; grandchildren: Trevor, Dalton and Tristen Salthe and Autumn Herplink; mother, Marlene and her husband Harold Supalla; sister, Diane (Al) Curry; brothers: Brad Krowiorz, Jeff Krowiorz and John (Tammy) Krowiorz; sister-in-law, Gloria Salthe; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Marilyn was preceded in death by father, Clifford Krowiorz; brother, Brian Krowiorz; grandparents and in-laws.
