Dorothy Rodriguez

Dorothy Alice Rodriguez, age 72, of Wells, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church in Walters. Visitation was from noon to 2 p.m. at the church on Saturday. The Rev. Donald Rose officiated and burial was in the Walters Cemetery. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Alice Rodriguez was born Dec. 13, 1937, the daughter of Russell and Emma (Hauskins) Haukoos in Faribault County. On Sept. 15, 1960, she was united in marriage to Andrew A. Rodriguez in Albert Lea.

Dorothy enjoyed babysitting for many families throughout the Wells, Walters and Albert Lea areas for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed going to garage sales, embroidery work and reading. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Denise Gutierrez of Arlington, Texas, Lisa Rodriguez (Randy Bramer “Scooter”) of Easton; seven grandchildren: Philip and Carey Gutierrez, Juan (Miriam) Ortiz and Adan Ortiz, Jon Rodriguez, Joe (fiancé Andrea) Rodriguez, and Lorilee Bramer; two great-grandchildren: Jaidon Alton Rodriguez and Alyssa Lynn Ortiz; three brothers: Glenn “Bud” (wife Elinor) Doty, Bob (wife Grace) Haukoos, all of Albert Lea, Kenny (wife Marilyn) Haukoos of Walters, one sister: Marie Adkins of Albert Lea; sister-in-law: Ethel Doty of the Twin Cities, brother-in-law: Norman Ballou of Randall; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, a son in infancy, husband Andy in 1999, brother Jim Doty and sister Ruth Ballou.
