Roberta “Berde” Radke, 58, Elgin

The funeral Mass for Roberta “Berde” A. Radke will be at noon on Saturday at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church, 315 East Clark Street in Albert Lea, with the Rev. Jim Berning and the Rev. Mike Ellis officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye at a later date.
Mrs. Radke, of Hollandale and formerly of Elgin, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at her home in Hollandale.

Roberta Ann Bjorneberg was born July 21, 1952, in Madelia, to Arlo and Elizabeth (Sperl) Bjorneberg. She attended elementary school in Madelia and Cathedral High School in New Ulm graduating in 1970. She then attended St. Mary’s School of Practical Nursing in Rochester. On Oct. 9, 1976, she married Theodore “Ted” Radke in Rochester. They lived in Elgin until 1986 when they moved to Hollandale in 1987. Berde was a nurse at St. Marys ICU in Rochester for 14 years, at Albert Lea Medical Center for 3 years, and at Austin Medical Center for 19 years. She loved spending time with her dog Einstein; was an avid Minnesota Twins Fan; enjoyed reading, spending time with family and special coffee friends;  enjoyed her vacations at “Brady’s Bunch” Cabin at Balsam Lake, Wis. Berde was a dedicated Democrat, but loved and got along very well with her Republican friends. She was a member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Albert Lea.
Berde is survived by her husband, Ted Radke, of Hollandale; one daughter, Megan Radke, of Winona; one sister, Janie (Bert) Williams, of Anoka; sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Bjorneberg.
Friends and family may visit from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Albert Lea. Memorials are preferred to the Family.
