Susan Maree Hruska passed away peacefully while asleep in her Rochester home on July 11, 2010. In September of 2006, Sue was diagnosed with brain cancer. During the almost four years of battling her cancer she enjoyed every day and lived her life to the fullest. She continued to be an inspiration to all that knew her. Throughout her entire life, Sue had a deep passion for living, truly enjoyed being around people, helping others, and spreading the message of God’s love. She was also a big sports fan and especially loved the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
Sue was born to Lowell and Delores Indrelie on June 30, 1958, in Albert Lea. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in June of 1976, and then moved to Rochester to attend Vocational College. In October of 1978, she started her career at the Mayo Clinic, where she worked for 30 years. Sue married her best friend, Ed Hruska, in March of 1981.
She served as a mentor for several teens over the years and joined a Mayo Clinic team serving in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Sue always enjoyed being involved in numerous community activities and always valued her wonderful family, neighbors, co-workers and friends.
Sue is survived by her husband, Ed; her daughter, Holly Owens (Steve) of Olathe, Kan.; son, Drew Hruska (Keeley) of Rochester; her mother, Delores Indrelie, of Albert Lea; two sisters: Nancy Christopherson (Todd) of Burnsville and Barb Anderson (Steve) of Sartell; one brother, Mark Indrelie (Jessie) of Albert Lea; her mother-law, Arlene Hruska of Rochester; her father-in-law, Paul Hruska (Lois) of Rochester; her sister-in-law, Lauren Hruska (Pete Libra) of Albuquerque, N.M.; four nieces: Rachel Phelan, Ashley Anderson, Kylie Indrelie, Lauren Christopherson; seven nephews: Ryan Christopherson, Derek Anderson, Isaiah Libra, Marcus Libra, Spencer Indrelie, Cole Indrelie, and Kadin Indrelie.
