Sarah Lee-Pagel receives a bachelor of arts

Sarah Lee-Pagel received a bachelor of arts, summa cum laude, with double majors in psychology and human services at Dakota Wesleyan University’s May 1, 2010, commencement in Mitchell, S.D.

Lee-Pagel has also been accepted to graduate school at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities’ College of Education and Human Development where she will study educational psychology as it applies to learning, cognition and educational technology. In addition, the UMN-TC has awarded Lee-Pagel a Graduate Assistantship; the 50 percent appointment has an estimated annual value of $26,435.

Sarah Lee-Pagel is the daughter of Michael and Renee Lee of Albert Lea; granddaughter of Pauline Lundberg of Albert Lea; granddaughter of Gwen Lee of Glenville; and wife of Galen Pagel; and mother of Connor Lee, both of Wessington Springs, S.D.


Alexander Knudson receives scholarship

Alexander Knudson of Albert Lea received the Community of Learners Scholarship Program from the University of North Dakota for the 2010-2011 academic year. Knudson, son of Kent and Shannon Knudson, graduated from Albert Lea High School and plans to attend UND in the fall.

The Community of Learners Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who have shown exemplary achievement in both high school GPA and in test scores. This scholarship program is intended to honor and reward students who contribute to enhancing UND as vibrant and connected learners.

Alexandra Leland graduates from University of Wisconsin

Alexandra Jan Leland received her bachelor’s degree in history along with a minor in European studies from the School of Letter and Sciences/University of Wisconsin, Madison, during commencement exercises held May 16, 2010.

She is a 2007 graduate from Albert Lea High School and the daughter of Bill and Pam Leland of Albert Lea.
