Five years ago a group of Matt Felt’s friends started a motorcycle ride to show support and raise money to help in the fight against the cancer that Matt was battling. Matt attended the first run. Last fall, Dillon Gordon, one of the founders of the Matt Felt Run, was killed in a motorcycle accident. On July 10, 2010 friends and family of Matt Felt and Dillon Gordon gathered to ride and raised over $13,000. The money will be donated to the American Cancer Society, Lifesource Organ Donation Program and the Humane Society of Albert Lea in remembrance of Matt and Dillon.
The donation to cancer prevention is $6,500. The event was widely supported by Albert Lea and the surrounding communities. There are many people to thank for their contributions and support, but they are too numerous to mention.

The donation to LifeSource Organ & Tissue Donation Program is $3,250. The gift to LifeSource will be used to expand public education about organ and tissue donation in the Upper Midwest and offers hope to the thousands of patients awaiting a life-saving transplant. The need for organ donation has never been greater, with over 107,000 people waiting for their second chance at life. LifeSource is very appreciative of this contribution and for the opportunity to increase public awareness.
The event was widely supported by Albert Lea and the surrounding communities. There are many people to thank for their contributions and support, but they are too numerous to mention — so thank you to everyone involved.
