We congratulate the board at the Freeborn County Fair for bringing in a rock band of the likes of Hinder. And it has brought country music performers that appeal to various ages, from George Jones to JoDee Messina to Justin Moore.

This gives local fans of live music a variety of choices.

We think the fair board does a great job of bringing big names to Freeborn County, and we take pride in knowing that people come to our county from all around the Midwest just to see some of the shows.

Still, we like to share our two cents. We urge the board to consider a popular Minnesota or Iowa band, such as Trampled by Turtles or The Nadas, both of which attract loads of young people to their concerts.

We think the fair board would be surprised at the number of seats these regional acts can fill.
