Norman Klukow, 78, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Norman F. Klukow of Albert Lea will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Bear Lake Church, rural Albert Lea. The Rev. Gary Hansen will officiate. Interment will be in the Bear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.
Norman died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. He was 78 years old.
Norman was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Albert Lea to Frank and Ella (Nassen) Klukow. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1949 and has been a lifetime Freeborn County resident. He married Pearl Reyerson on Jan. 18, 1953. Norman was a member of Concordia Lutheran Bear Lake Church. He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. Norman enjoyed making wrought iron lawn ornaments, playing cards and dancing. Family was very important to him. He especially enjoyed being with his wife Pearl and watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate if various activities.
Norman is survived by his wife, Pearl Klukow, of Albert Lea; sons: Mike Klukow of Albert Lea and Steve Klukow of Albert Lea; daughter, Randi Murphy, and her husband Mike of Blaine; grandchildren: Shauna Reilly, Dustin Klukow, Kayla Klukow, Brandon Klukow, Jessica Thayer, Madison Murphy and Austin Murphy; great-grandchildren: Morgan Reilly, Asher Reilly and Alexis Thayer; sister, Muriel Gries, of Albert Lea; brother, Lawrence Klukow, of Branson, Mo.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Ella Klukow.
