Calvary Baptist Church won first place in the nonprofit category for their float entry in the Third of July parade. Following along with the overall theme “Hometown Heroes” that was selected for the parade entries, the church chose the theme of “Giving Thanks for all God’s Heroes — Past, Present and Future.” Young participants in the parade wore clothes depicting hometown heroes such as a police officer, a nurse, store clerk, soldier, pastor, beautician, fireman, etc. -- Submitted photo
