Steven Batt, 17, of Waseca

Steven K. Batt, age 17, of Waseca, died on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, in Steele County as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with the Rev. Marty Schaefer, celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in New Richland.
Steven’s family will greet friends on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home and Crematory of Waseca, and will continue on Saturday afternoon for one hour prior to services, at the church.
Steven Kyle was born on Feb. 8, 1993, in Albert Lea to Neal and Suzanne (Adams) Batt. Steven attended Sacred Heart Parochial School in Waseca, and was currently entering his junior year at Waseca High School. Steven has lived his entire life in Waseca where he was active in his church and school. Steven has been involved in the Waseca Soccer Club since its inception, and was currently a member of the Waseca High School varsity soccer team. Steven loved the outdoors and all that nature had to offer. He also enjoyed reading, his participation in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and time spent with his family and friends. He was excited to pursue his future plans in the study of chemistry and research.
He is survived by his mother, Suzanne Adams, of Waseca, and his father Neal (Darla) Batt, of Hartland; by his maternal grandparents Patrick and Kay (Berg) Adams of New Richland and his paternal grandparents Donald and Glenda (Graham) Batt of Hartland; by his great-grandparents Harland and Leah Berg of New Richland; by many aunts and uncles, cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Christopher and Eva Adams, George and Lucille Batt, and Harry and Grace Graham.
