WELLS — With much of the Gopher Conference runner-up squad returning from last season’s squad, the United South Central girls’ tennis team began the season how they expected to — winning.

The Rebels (1-0) narrowly defeated St. Peter 4-3 in their home opener and got a big three-set win from seniors Cami Christian and Brianna Schroeder at No. 1 doubles, that was the difference in the match.

USC plays again Thursday at Albert Lea with first serves at 4 p.m.
