The United South Central volleyball team entered Tuesday second in the Gopher conference and welcomed the conference leaders and defending state champions, the Bethlehem Academy Cardinals, to Wells.
The Cardinals defeated the Rebels 25-11, 25-18 and 25-19 to earn the sweep.
“We played really intense and tight, not the fun volleyball like we usually do,” United South Central coach Jolene Bute said. “We were so incredibly focused that we didn’t play like ourselves at all.”
Tayla Sunde went 8-for-8 from the service line and had two kills for the Rebels.
Val Sahr led USC with eight kills, while Marielle Schultz led the Rebels with 15 set assists.
USC looks to get back in the win column on Thursday as they travel to Mankato Loyola.
