Domestic Engineers

The Domestic Engineers held their annual progressive dinner on Aug. 26. The theme was “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” in honor of the Minnesota Twins opening season at the new Target Field.
The first course was held at the home of Phyllis Hamborg. “Take Me Out the Ballgame,” was sang accompanied by Millard Hamborg on the accordion.
The second course was served at Sharon Jahnke’s home.
The meeting was held at Carol Olson’s.
President Sharon Jahnke read the poem, “T’was the Night Before Spring Training.”
Roll call was taken by saying what we liked best about baseball.
Secretary and Treasurer’s reports were read and approved.
Elaine Baer will be the September hostess.
Councilor Bev Diercks reported on plans for the spring event.
Fabrics, families and the Forest will be held at Kasson at Events by Daniels, Saker and Schmidt.
Sunshine person Carol Olson reported on the cards sent out.
The new schedule booklet will be prepared next meeting.
The Christmas party will be held on Dec. 14 at Wedgewood Cove. Holiday Happening will be held at Americas Best Value Inn on Dec. 4.
There was discussion for idea on how to get the county commissioners more aware of the work done by the learning circles.
Elaine Bauer won a prize for the Minnesota Twins themed game.
The meeting was closed by a motion from Carol Olson and seconded by Sharon Jahnke.
