From junk to art

Albert Leans Rudy and Becky Adams, 821 Water St., got a surprise gift on their doorstep recently from someone in the community.
This arrangement, made out of old items from a rummage sale of Rudy and Becky Adams, was turned into an arrangement and left secretly on their porch last weekend. -- Sarah Stultz/Albert Lea Tribune
Rudy Adams said he and his wife had a three-day rummage sale last weekend, during which they had some items marked free. A person took the items — artificial flowers, a flower pot, a vase, mismatched dishes, a pencil topper and a crib — and turned them into an arrangement.
On the last day of the sale, the Adams received a knock on their door, and the arrangement had been left secretly on their doorstep.
“We gave it away; now we got it back,” he said. “We enjoy it. It’s going to stay around now.”
Rudy Adams said he might have an idea who made the creation but is not sure.
“It’s junk, but it’s neat junk,” he added.
