Lake Mills volleyball goes 5-0 at tourney

The Lake Mills volleyball team picked up their season’s 15th win Saturday, while remaining undefeated at the Central Springs volleyball tournament.

The team defeated Wooden-Crystal Lake Titonka, Clarksville, Rockford, Central Springs and Newman Catholic en route to a first place finish.

For the tournament, the Bulldogs served 90 percent with 47 team aces and were led by Kelci Larson, who went 41-for-42 with five aces, and Morgan Fjelsted who had 12 serve aces to go along with 63 ace assists.

“We controlled the serving line,” Lake Mills head coach Jim Boehmer said. “We want to get better and do a better job of taking care of the ball. We have a tough week ahead of us.”

Josie Brackey led the team with 30 kills while Amanda Lampman chipped in 21.

Haley Mathews led the team with 12 digs and Shelby Kuper and Micah Peters each had 11 digs.

The Bulldogs (15-0) play again 7 p.m. Tuesday when they host Osage.
