Oma Ladlie, 97, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Oma Borghild Ladlie, 97, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Clayton Balsley will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Oma Ladlie

Oma died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

Oma was born on Oct. 29, 1912, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Charles and Rasmina (Rassmusen) Osmundson. She attended Ramsey Elementary School and graduated from Albert Lea High School. In March of 1931, Oma was united in marriage to George D. Ladlie in Sioux Falls, S.D. Oma was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid, a Bible study group and Circle. She was also a member of the Big Island Neighborhood Club. Oma had several interests including reading, knitting, crocheting, sewing and especially raising strawberries and gardening.

Survivors include her daughters: Delores Allenspach of Powell, Ohio, Janice (Elton) Ruble of Albert Lea, Elaine (Eugene) Flusek of Glenville and Mary Hartzell of Rochester; sons: Dale (Jeanette) Ladlie of Freeborn, James (Fran) Ladlie of Clarks Grove, Steven (Pennie) of Hollandale and Paul (Diane) Ladlie of Albert Lea; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Oma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George D. Ladlie; her daughter, Alice Lavallie; sisters: Doris Ausen, Bergit Krupicka, Helen Indrelie, and one in infancy; and brothers: Roy Osmundson, Norman Osmundson, and Orville Osmundson.
