Many areas on the western side of Albert Lea were without power for about an hour. Street lights were out, most notably Minnesota Highway 13 and West Main Street.

Power returned at about 1 p.m. Saturday. City crews were putting up stop signs.

A generator at St. John’s Lutheran Home, which had lost power, produced an excess amount of smoke, alarming some neighbors.

Some other places affected were Skyline Plaza and Streater.

Power on the north side of Albert Lea remained on.
