The small island now called Dress Island would not be there but for the effort of the “Gas” Hanson family. They converted a bog in the lake to an enjoyable island for public use.

Did George Dress do anything to enhance its appearance when he lived across from it? If so, what?

Let it be known as Hanson Island to honor the family who made it so.
