Tigers boys’ soccer gets 1st win; girls fall

The Albert Lea Tigers boys’ soccer team beat Fairmont Saturday 2-0 at Hammer Field, picking up their first win of the season.

Tom Furland puts the Tigers (1-3) ahead 1-0, scoring at the 11 minute mark and Alik Smed scored the team’s final goal a minute and a half before halftime.

The Tigers play again 5 p.m. Tuesday at Rochester Mayo.

The Tigers girl’s soccer team lost Satuday at Rochester Century 1-0.

“The girls played very well,” head coach Rick Barnhill said. “Century is a very good team.”

Tiger girls’ soccer team (3-2) plays again tonight at 7 p.m.
