The United South Central girls’ tennis team looked for its tenth consecutive victory on Tuesday as they hosted Blue Earth Area.
The Rebels swept the Buccaneers in Singles and Doubles to earn its 10th win in a row and remain undefeated.
“I am very proud of this match as it is always nice to get a win against Blue Earth,” United South Central coach Kim Stevermer said. “The girls wanted this win so bad and they meant business today.”
The most intriguing match of the night put USC’s Ali Ramsley against BEA’s Emily Slama, who is an honorable mention in the state rankings.
Ramsley powered past Slama to earn a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
“Ali Ramsley played a great match,” Stevermer said. “She wasn’t nervous about Emily’s Honorable Mention state ranking. She played nice, cool and calm. She played her game and didn’t let Emily get going on her game.”
In Singles, Ramsley, Rachel Mattick, Robin Staloch and Claire Christian all won their matches in straight sets.
While in Doubles, the teams of Brianna Schroeder/Megan Chicos and Cami Christian/Dani Roberts both won their matches in straight sets.
Ali Wood and Monica Bye defeated their opponents in three sets.
Unites South Central looks to remain undefeated on Thursday as they travel to Sleepy Eye.
