Attack letter was just plain false

I would like to respond to Don Sorenson’s misleading attack on Tim Walz for his support of legislation that would create jobs right here in southern Minnesota and get our country off foreign oil.
His accusations are just false. The websites he seeks information from are partisan, “rant and slant” sources. The truth is that families will not experience yearly increases in their energy costs according to nonpartisan PolitiFact.com. Check it out for yourself online.
Mr. Sorenson and state Rep. Randy Demmer aren’t interested in creating jobs or preventing Big Oil companies from profiting off the nearly $3 a gallon we’re paying at the gas pump. Why wouldn’t we want to create jobs in southern Minnesota? Why wouldn’t we stop paying Middle East countries to hate us when they’ll hate us for free? That’s what comprehensive energy legislation will do for us.
Has Mr. Demmer even read the bill. No. He said so himself in a recent debate in Rochester. How can we trust someone who hasn’t even taken the time to read the bill?
We can trust Tim Walz. He still lives in Mankato where his young kids go to school. He sleeps on the floor of his Washington, D.C., office to save money and comes home every weekend to be with his family and constituents.
