Patrick Larson will attend U of Wisconsin
Patrick Dean Larson, a 2010 Glenville-Emmons High School graduate, will be attending the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, Wis., majoring in electrical engineering. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Larson, of Glenville and grandson of Donald L and Rochelle J Larson, of Albert Lea.
Kirkwood Dean’s List
Kirkwood Community College has released its Dean’s List for the summer 2010 semester. The honored students have achieved a 3.3 grade point average or higher after completing 12 or more credit hours with the college. A Kirkwood student from the area earning this distinction was Jennifer Davis of Lake Mills, Iowa, in the surgical technology program.
Madison Passingham will attend Itasca Comm. College
Madison Passingham, a 2010 Albert Lea High School graduate, will be attending Itasca Community College, Grand Rapids, majoring in physical therapy and athletic training in the area of pediatrics. She is the daughter of Kim and Chad Lundak, of Albert Lea, grandaughter of Chris and Ron McIntire, of Glenville, and great-granddaughter of Lue Miller, of Albert Lea.
Brandon Flugum named to Dean’s List
Brandon Flugum from Lake Mills, Iowa, was named to the Dean’s List. Students named to the Dean’s List must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for the two terms and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.
Brandon Flugum attends the Mason City Buena Vista University Professional and Online Studies location.
Scholarships awarded to local students
Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences awarded local students with scholarships:
Lisa Nelson, of Lake Mills, Iowa, majoring in agricultural business, awarded Younkers Farm-Aid Scholarships.
Allix Tenold, of Northwood, Iowa, majoring in agricultural systems technology, awarded Fred Foreman Scholarship for Growth in Leadership Participation.
Jared Butler to graduate from Drake University
Jared Butler, a 2005 Albert Lea High School graduate, is finishing his final year of school majoring in pharmacy at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa. He is the son of John Butler of Albert Lea and grandson of Harriet Hemenway, Albert Lea.
